Happy New Year

Hello friends. Long time no post, I know, but I'm getting back on track now. Here are a few things from the last few days, and tomorrow I'll post a photo of the big project I've been working on since November.

This one I've decided needs to become a very polished piece, so here's a detail preview of the polishing-up in progress:

  1. OOOOooOOO these are fab! Love the movement of the fabric in the dress.
I'm curious how you decide what constitutes a piece that should be polished up?

  2. Hmmm...that's a good question. I suppose it just has to do with how attached I am to the piece. I assume that most artists come up with ideas, sketch them out, and then expand on them. My process is different. I constantly sketch arbitrarily. Most of the time I don't know where I'm going with a drawing or a painting until part-way through. So, some things end at a sketch or a rough study, and other things morph into more finished pieces.

  3. I kind of want your princess to have legs folded underneath her or something...maybe not. how are you going to morph the belt dangling things? I kind of think the belt doesn't need them.
Im in love with the first one. the fabric is swirls is mind blowing.

  4. My dad was bothered by the lack of legs, too. Maybe she needs lots of legs...6 or 8 of them? The belt thing needs lots of work, but I'm going to keep it.
